BJP MP Deepak Prakash has strongly condemned the communal violence that erupted in Giridih, Jharkhand, on the occasion of Holi, alleging that the state government is targeting the Hindu community. The violence, which led to several vehicles being torched, occurred when a Holi procession passed through a street near Ghodthambha Chowk, sparking a clash between two communities.
Prakash accused the Hemant Soren-led government of being behind such incidents, claiming that every time a Hindu festival is celebrated, members of the ruling party are involved in instigating violence. He further alleged that the government registers FIRs against BJP workers as part of “appeasement politics.”
“It is an unfortunate incident and we condemn it. The Hemant Soren government is oppressing the Hindu community… Every time Hindu festivals are attacked, Hemant Soren’s people are behind it,” Prakash told ANI. He also warned the government to stop such actions, stating that if the oppression continues, BJP workers would take a stand against the state government.
Following the clashes, the administration took swift action to restore order. Authorities assured that the situation was now under control, and investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for the violence. No major injuries were reported in the incident, but some vehicles were set on fire during the chaos.
